About Us
The Co Lab began with a simple thought. Creative people shouldn’t have to do everything alone.
Working independently can be freeing, but it can also be isolating. Whether you’re studying, freelancing, building a business or finding your way into the creative industry, sometimes you just want to be around people who understand what you’re doing.
People to bounce an idea off.
Someone to ask for advice.
A familiar face across the room.
Or simply somewhere that feels good to show up to.
We’re creating a shared home for Christchurch’s creative community — a place where people can work on their own things, together.
Growing alongside our community.
The Co Lab isn’t about telling people how to be creative.
It’s about creating the environment for creativity to happen naturally. Through shared spaces, conversations, workshops, events and the people who walk through our doors, we hope The Co Lab continues to change and grow alongside the community that calls it home.
